Nathan Who?

Greetings, visitor

Map where I've worked

I appreciate your interest. Here's a short resume.

  • Boeing IT programmer/analyst (lead software engineer) since 2007, Mesa to Charleston
  • Interactive Sites, senior software engineer, Scottsdale
  • Zencon, People Media, senior software developer, Chandler
  • Moletti Digital Media, senior web developer, Anchorage
  • Alaska One, web developer, Anchorage
  • 7x, Denali Sites, web slinger, Anchorage
  • Alaska Stock Photography, computer boy, Anchorage

I learned to code with DOS batch files in the 90s so that I could play Doom on dad's PC. Dad's PC was at work. He's a pastor. Hey, what's more Christian than killing demons with a rocket launcher? Naturally, Doom led to LAN parties and somehow a career building the web we love.

I learned HTML, CSS, and JavaScript so I could build that web. Then ColdFusion. Then C#. And that's most of my software stack.

My wife & I moved to Phoenix where our children were born, and stayed around the Valley until Boeing sent us to South Carolina.

Today I lead a multi-national software development team creating Boeing's next generation manufacturing software. Usually that means extensive code reviews, then I get to work on the hardest parts. I also do all the infrastructure and devops. And security. And architecture. And microservices. And regulatory compliance. And scoping work. And meetings. And everything.

Dopefly.com is all just my own opinions, sometimes spicy takes, sometimes wrong (but probably not).
